I would choose this one. When I'm using a manual and want to look up a
term, I expect the glossary to be at the back of the book. I agree that
it's hard when you need to introduce certain terms early on, but I'd say,
define them the first place they're used, and reference them in the
glossary. I think this is pretty standard. It allows people who know the
term to avoid unnecessary info, but allows rookies to learn.
