I guess that would depend on if the list was part of a sentence (such as this
one). (Or whether it was a parenthetical sentence.)
The first example you give would be good for my first example, a parenthetical
list
that is part of a sentence. Your second example is what I would do if it was a
parenthetical sentence ending in etc.
Did you forget something in your third example? I don't see a difference between
your
2nd and 3rd example.
