Here are some tips from Chuck Petch on getting the most from
attending an STC Conference:
1. Mark up your conference schedule in advance, using the Proceedings to
determine which seminars will be most beneficial to you. A number of seminars
sounded interesting based on the title, but when I read the article in the
Proceedings, I found that they were not for me.
2. Always mark a first choice and a backup choice for each time period in your
schedule. That way if you can't get into your first choice seminar, you can go
immediately to the backup seminar.
3. If there's a seminar that you simply MUST attend, get there 30 minutes
early. In general, try to arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure that you
get a seat in the seminars you most want to attend. And DO get advance tickets
for seminars that require tickets.
