If I can find something on the Internet, I point them to it, as it is
obviously public at that point. However, you'd be surprised at how much
changes or disappears on the Internet.

Other than that, I explain I don't keep samples because the work is owned by
the company, not me. Much of the work is confidential or classified and I'm
not authorized to release it. I hope they respect that I will treat their
material with the same respect. If that isn't good enough, I really don't
want to work someplace who wants you to compromise previous contracts and
agreements.

When you don't have any.

I have some samples, but the most recent one is approximately 15 years
old. Pretty much everywhere since then has had clauses preventing me from
showing my work. All the samples I do have are...print.

I am volunteering with OpenOffice, so I can point to that. I am working on
some essays and such, so I can point to that.

But over the past 15 years my writing has changed, for the better I hope.

I'm not looking right now. So, I have some time while I get my health back
on track (I hope I get my health back), and during that time I am walking
down the avenues mentioned.

Other than completely changing my attitude about my former employer...what
other actions can people suggest I take?
