John Allred had Question about contract opportunities
"For those of you who take short-term jobs, say 2 to 6
months, how do you handle the logistics? Do you find decent but cheap
local lodgings? I doubt companies pay to move a contract worker."

John:

The people I've know who worked out-of-state jobs have generally been
provided a lodging allowance, or in some cases, the agency has a discount
agreement with a long-term-stay suite hotel, and arranges the lodging for
the contractor. Such agreements usually also provide a weekly meal
allowance and round trip transportation home one weekend every month. Such
arrangements are a lot less common now than they were during the dotcom boom
around 2000.
