Stopping on RR tracks... There are people whose hobby is railroads, 
either scale-model or full-scale. When some train hits an automobile at 
a grade crossing, railfans refer to the incident as, "The driver 
committed suicide in front of the train." They reject the notion that it 
is somehow the fault of the locomotive engineer for not stopping, or 
even of the railroad company for not providing signs or signals. 
"Expect," they say, "trains on ANY track in ANY direction at ANY time."

Rail tracks constitute their own signage, not unlike elephants, ships, 
and my horses. In spite of all that, my horses now legally require a 
sign, if I'm not to be at fault when someone is injured by them.
