Hmm, I'm guessing it's an investments tool.  Anyhow, seems like there's
an adequate customer segment that can handle the over-wrought UI --
maybe even likes it.  As you say, it can't be that bad.

But if the vendor also talks about expanding the base, the geek factor
may be limiting their prospects.  Since we can't touch the UI,
re-conceiving the docs might be critical to meeting goals.  Perhaps you
can use that argument to gain better control.
