Indeed.  Even without Linux on the desktops.  Unless that were awkwardly
configured, too.

Write-up some brief instructions for your peeps, explaining how to make
a desktop shortcut to `rel_1-4`.  Then you'll only need alert them to
changed files.  Perhaps repeat the instructions as a footer to your
messages the first few times:

Browse to `rel_1-4` in Windows Explorer.  Right-click-drag the `rel_1-4`
folder to the desktop.  Release the mouse button and choose "Create
Shortcut".  Et voilà.
