Business Week had an interesting article a few issues
ago about U.S. IT prospects. Basically:
* IT in the U.S. is no longer the high growth
industry segment that it was in the latter 90's.
Expect like about 6% growth per year vs double digit.
* More and more IT jobs - especially those that are
very "hands-on" - are going to India and other
overseas bargin basements.
* Don't think that even higher end U.S. IT jobs are
all that safe. Chinese and Indian university are
turning out more engineering and computer science
graduates - and innovation in those countries is
really picking up.
