Okay, there are some exceptions. But,elsewhere, it's not as obvious. Just as secondary centers didn't have quite the boom of Silicon Valley, they didn't have quite the bust, either.

I'm not saying that the signs aren't there - just that many people are going to take their personal prospects as indicative of the market in general.


And the state of "the market" inevitably affects the manner in which you approach your prospective clients.

Again, there's some truth to that. However, there are still many circumstances in which the state of the market might not affect you: For example, if you're working for old clients rather than new ones, or whether your new contracts come from word of mouth rather than activ searches by you. And if you have several long term prospects on the go, you'll probably take much longer to notice a downswing than someone who's unemployed.
