Forgive me for assuming that you were an open-minded seeker after knowledge and
truth. I merely assumed that you might not be familiar with the resources of
TECHWR-L or that last year (if I'm not mistaken) we had a lengthy discussion of jobs
being exported out of the US. It was a discussion in which several posters forgot
that this was an international list and that not everyone was of the opinion that
citizens of the US were entitled to the right of first refusal on all Technical
Writing jobs. I thought perhaps you would want to acquire some context before you
continued the discussion.

I am unrepentantly old school. I have been around a long time and whether that makes
my opinions more valuable than someone else's I will not say. But I have had the
chance to know racism and xenophobia up close and personal. I believe firmly that
they should be confronted when they appear and not allowed to gain a foothold.
In my opinion, Eric was NOT wrong in his characterization, and I will happily stand
with him if he is so accused in any competent jurisdiction. The only people I know
who make racist remarks are racists. The only people who defend racist remarks are
..., well I'll let you fill in that blank.
