TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I have to create and link approximately 50 online flowcharts that cover the
flow of information through an accounting/inventory control software
application. At certain decision points, I want the user to be able to click
the flowchart shape and see another flowchart related to the selected
decision. I also want a "More Information" button in most shapes that
displays a popup-type box when clicked.
The flowcharts need to be incorporated into a Robohelp HTLM (version 7) help
file. I don't trust Robohelp, or my HTML skills, enough to try this in
Robohelp.
My current plan is to create the flowcharts in Visio to make sure I have the
details correct. Then, I'll import them into Macromedia Director and create
the necessary links and have the flowcharts as a separate executable linked
to the help file.
Does anybody on this list have any experience with interactive flowcharts,
or know where I could see an example?
Thanks for your help
