Philip...I can think of several ways to do all this, (I do most of
this all the time) but I don't know how much of any of them will work
once you tie them into RH. I have a feeling that it will a greate
deal. Note...this applies to Visio 2002..don't know if this would
apply to an earlier version.
1) If you can incorporate Off-page reference icons from the Basic
Flowchart Shapes stencil pallet, then when you drag it to the page, a
dialog box is displayed asking you where to place its companion
connector. This dialog includes the option of picking an existing
page or a new page. The gotcha is that they need to be different
pages wiithin the same Visio flowchart file. If you convert the files
to web pages, the off-page reference turns into a hyperlink.
2) You can highlight an element, then press Ctrl-K to add a hyperlink
to the file. You can reference the file, or through Subaddress, the
specific page or anchor (this is the equivilent to bookmark
(#bookmark) in a web page. Again, convert to web pages and the
hyperlinks remain.
3) Convert them all to GIFs, then use the image map capabilities to
draw a region around the icon and direct it to another GIF.
For the More Information requirements, you can highlight the element
in Visio, select Insert -> Comment, then type your comment. When you
place the cursor over the element, it displays simiolar to0 an ALT
tag on a web. If you are converting this to a GIF or Web page, use
web techniques to do the samr thing.
