I would certainly be willing to pay a subscription fee ($10 per
year is a paltry sum) for this list. Although I am a new
subscriber (just joined on July 19th) I have already received
(and I hope disseminated) some very helpful information.
On the other hand, I would not like to see this list taken over
by STC. I joined STC and pay my dues so that I can receive the
magazine (which sometimes has interesting articles) and so I can
put it on my resume. I don't think that their point-of-view
would be beneficial to this list, and I can't see how the list
could remain impartial.
Having said all this, I don't really have any idea how the list
works. I leave that to Eric, and am glad that he has donated his
time to do so (thanks Eric). I for one say that whatever we can
do (within reason) to keep this list impartial and to have Eric
continue to be our moderator, should be done.
Just tell me where to send the check....
