Tchah! As far as I'm aware, most British peple would probably go with
'in the queue' as well...as queues in Britain seem to have a life of
their own. But I don't see what's wrong with 'in hospital'...

I agree. At the risk of being flamed as an Anglophobe, "In queue" =
sounds
British, like "in hospital."
