Marsha,

Thank you for pointing out TW-OUT -- Technical Writers Off Topic list.
TWOUT is available both as a web interface and email interface. Check it
out at

http://www.egroups.com/list/tw-out.

Any off-topic post of interest to technical writers is welcome here.
Indeed, it is fun and cool and still an oasis.

Wish someone had also mentioned TWIN - The Technical Writers of India
mailing list. The details of TWIN are available at
http://members.tripod.com/~Kamath/twin.htm. It is a regular mailing list
for technical writers of India. We have 250 members -- out of which 50 are
from all over the world (meaning anyone is welcome). Interestingly, TWIN has
grown into an association where we hold Chapter meetings, conduct seminars,
etc. We recently conducted a seminar on Instructional Design by Hemant
Nerurkar from Australia. You can check out TWIN posts at the TW-IN archive
(see URL below).

Peter Ring has a comprehensive collection of Techwriting listservs and also
related listservs (Online, Tools, RSI, etc). His new URL is:
http://www.prc.dk/user-friendly-manuals/ .

Greetings from India!

Guru (guru -at- bom5 -dot- vsnl -dot- net -dot- in) (Listowner of TWIN and TW-OUT.)

There is a listserv called tw-out that is for chatting about topics that are
not appropriate for this list. It's not very active but when it gets
rolling, it out to be fun. I'm sorry I don't have the exact address but
maybe the person who owns it will please write in?
