after all, that is what I am: a
professional writer! Aren't we all?

One can easily draw a distinction between being a "professional writer,"
and "writing professionally." When I write e-mail, unless someone's paying
me for it, as in writing to explain further something that wasn't done
well in the docs, I am *not* writing professionally. Because of who I am,
however, I would expect the quick email notes I dash off to still be more
literate and more "professional" than ones dashed off by non-writers.

BTW, it was deliciously ironic that you ended your "professional writer"
pronouncement by including the entirety of the the previous message at the
end, right down to sending us all a second copy of the paragraph the
listserv tacks on to the end of a message. I appreciated the chuckle it
gave me.

Have fun,
