what writers of user manuals for technical products (as opposed to
programmer reference works) are called in some areas of my shop.
In response: Here at this company, the Telecommunications Specialist runs when he is asked to help with documentation. He specializes in the telephone system, fax machines, and anything having to do with the cabling. For this reason I am reluctant to use the salary survey for my salary negotiations as Technical Writer.
