That was good advice a year ago. Adobe did fix the memory leak, though,
so if you update to the current version (3.01 on some components, 3.02
on Distiller itself), you can safely leave Distiller Assistant running.
Unless you have a soft spot for hyperactive assistants, though, you
might want to change the watched folder frequency to something less
frenetic than the default ten seconds; I set mine to 300 seconds.
