Ed,
Do you mean you want to buy what you need to develop a Windows Help system
for an application? You've got all kinds of options available. Truth is,
you may not have to "buy" WinHelp; you may already have it. If you have any
Microsoft development tool (e.g., C++, Visual Basic) or one of the MSDN
Level 2 CDs, you should have the help compiler (HCW.EXE and some associated
files). With that, a text editor, and a word processor that produces RTF,
you can create help files.
Then there are the authoring tools, like RoboHelp, Doc-to-Help, HDK,
HelpBreeze, .... I'm leaving some off the list, because I can't think of
all of them. These are applications (some of them are sophisticated
templates that sit on top of Word) that take some (but not all) of the
grunt work out of creating help. Most of these also provide the compiler.
If that hasn't gotten you going in the right direction, feel free to ask
for clarification/more details.
Regards,
Roy Jacobsen

My company wants to buy WinHelp but we can't find who sells it or
what's the going price.
Any suggestions out there?
