To view an EPS file after importing, the importing program uses the preview
which was stored along with the file. This preview is PICT format if on a
Mac, and TIFF for Windows (don' know what it is for Unix).

This is probably why you can't view the imported document on Windoze. A
good test would be to print the document. If the graphic shows up after
printing, then it imported fine, but without a preview image which the
importing application could use.

My best guess on the problem of importing the graphic in Unix is that it
can't read the file format. But since I haven't worked at imprting EPS into
Unix, I don't have a lot of ideas about where to look to fix the problem.
