Ventana Communications Group is currently looking for freelance developmental
editors. Developmental editing is also called content editing or organization
editing. As a developmental editor, you ensure that the book (1) addresses the
intended audience, (2) delivers the appropriate content at the appropriate
amount of detail, (3) is organized thoughtfully and logically, and (4) follows
the overall style of Ventana and the book series. Developmental editors are
not concerned with grammar or sentence-level editing.
Requirements: Two years experience in editing, familiarity with Internet and
programming topics, schedule AND quality conscious, and patience with good and
poor writers. Must have Microsoft Word, Version 6 or later.
