Hey there,

I know some of you tend to think spell checkers are only good for
discovering whether "abracadabra" and the toenail of bat goes in front of
"presto" or the other way 'round. And I'm inclined to agree. However, the
recent thread on the limitations of spell checkers has put a bug in my head.
Does anyone know if there are online ftp sites or WWW pages where
downloadable "updated" dictionary files can be found for wp/dp applications
like Word, WordPerfect, or Page Maker? It seems reasonable that official
(or even unofficial) expansions, editions, and addenda (jeepers or is it
addendums) of such dictionaries would make their way out there and be
available. It seems--at least from the recent discussions on this
list--that such a resource would be valuable to many of us.
