Subject:Re: Abbreviation for kilobits per second From:Reinhard Jaehnig <RJaehnig -at- AOL -dot- COM> Date:Mon, 17 Jun 1996 17:13:12 -0400
Is there only one way ?
Kbit/s springs to mind as first choice.
... but the MS manual for style has KBps and Kbps and adds:
"Spell out at first mention."
I can't imagine that Kbit/s needs spelling out at first mention,
but somehow the MS manual for style does not seem to like 'Kbit.'
"Do not use as an abbreviation for kilobit; always spell out."
Greetings
Reinhard
