Who DOES get the documentation?

Subject: Who DOES get the documentation?

Greetings all!

Here's a quick question for those of you who ship docs. to many
customers:

* How do you keep track of who gets the documentation?

For example, my group creates software for a network management
system. They ship the software and a set of docs to the customer
(generally only one or two sets of doc), the software is installed,
and the manuals disappear.

Give it a month, and people at the customer site move to other areas.
Or, give it a month, and the customer site moves somewhere new.

After the doc. leaves my hands, I really have no way to track where
it goes. Comment cards are rarely returned.

So, how do YOU keep track of things?

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
