As a desk reference, M-W's Collegiate Dictionary Tenth
Edition is a good work. My boss recently bought a copy
for each of us. The Tenth is new (dated 1993).
Yes, back in the 1980's some editions were bowdlerized, but
we were all trying to be kinder and gentler back then. ;)
