TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Docs as code / static site generators have been a fad for long enough
that I think usage is declining outside of API documentation and other
contexts where that's the best choice, though I'm still seeing docs
with hundreds of topics displayed as a single long hard-to-navigate
column. For example:
Andrew Etter's an enthusiastic booster of that fad. If he'd had more
than one tech writing gig before writing it he might have recognized
that it's not the right tool for every project.
