Couple of ideas for you:
- Company expects a lot of bang for their buck.
- Access to product will be given, along with minimal SMS help.
- They expect ability and work ethic to be strong characteristics.
- SMS are over-worked, or at least have company convinced they are.

You could over-analyze. It might be that they've hired one or two
blow-hards in the past, and have not much to show for it. Most companies
simply need someone to show skill, consistently hit the books, and play
nice with others.
