Our manuals are delivered in PDF format online, so I eliminate all blank
pages. There are some situations where clients may request printed versions
of our manuals and sometimes our salespeople like to show a couple of
manuals when they're on sales calls, so for those situations I publish the
PDF in a duplex format for printing.

I still have my headings at the left margin with paragraphs indented a bit.
Chapters are still numbered but headings are not. I don't include table or
figure captions, nor do I create a list of tables and figures.

Our main emphasis is on the online, browser-based help.
