I would go.
Remember that bit of boilerplate in new hire letters that refers to a
probationary period? Don't forget that you are also evaluating them.
It doesn't sound to me as if there's any great payback for success in
this position. And you're new enough on the job that you can just leave
it off your resume.
The only real question is, go right now, or find another position first,
and that's determined by your stress level and the reserves in your bank
account.
