Best approach to taxes is use your tax program to estimate, and become
familiar with IRS rules.
If you have W-2 income this year that pays 100% of your 2014 tax owed, you
may owe tax due to this year's 1099, but no penalty. There are many other
situations, but that one rule is worth knowing.
EIN is good to have, but some will insist on your SSN.
