Depends on what you mean by "luck." If it's just not getting fired, I've
done it during periods when I was working contract and no client has ever
terminated my contract because I interviewed for a job. If you mean
getting some kind of counter offer to stop looking, either raise or job
offer, no. The closest ever was one company that really did want to hire
me and made an effort to get a req signed off when they knew my departure
was imminent, but they didn't succeed in getting the funds allocated and I
just finished my current project for them and then started my new job.
