I remember my first encounter with intellectual-property and NDA documents, and my major fear was that my employer apparently claimed ownership of any fiction, music or poetry I might create, along with the technical stuff I was actually being paid for.

And yes, I did turn out some music and poetry. They never said a peep about claiming it. I thought the poems were pretty good, and so did two or one of my cow-orkers. I'm miffed. The legal action might have made me famous. "Zzzzzottt Computer Mega-Corp Sues Employee Over Poem Ownership. Story on Page 18."
