I can live with Word 2007. It is different, yes, but different is good for the brain :) I have Office
2003 installed on my desktop and Office 2007 on my laptop. My only complaint with 2007 is
that it is a little slower, but that's a factor of the computer it's running on as well.

I really like PowerPoint 2007 -- I prefer it over 2003. It is much easier to make very polished
presentations in 2007. Perhaps since I am not a PowerPoint Wizard, the switch was easier
for me.

In software development, it is very difficult to find a happy medium when it comes to UI
changes. If you make few changes over a product's lifetime, everyone faults you for your
applications being old and dated. If you update the old and dated UI, everyone faults you for
changing the world as they know it :) The key is to try to make the transition easy by providing
documentation such a reference guides ("feature X, which used to be here, can now be
found here"). That's where a good tech writer comes in.
