The poster is a new tech writer who asked whether sticking
out the job, excess hours and all, would be better for building
experience than doing something else to improve his skills,
which presumably he does not feel are up to the point where
he's confident he can sell himselve as "excellent." Without
more details on exactly how close the company comes to
being a sweat shop, the big question is to what extent the
time he's already spent on the job may have enhanced his
marketability as a candidate.

As for learning experiences and improving qualifications,
there are few things that build either as well or as quickly
as successfully managing a difficult or even seemingly
impossible work situation - assuming, that is, that you
aren't so close to the breaking point that you need to get
out now before it kills you.
