I recall some problems with the Hidden Data Removal tool at the time of
its debut -- may be addressed by now, but a perusal of the following

Yes, when I'm feeling particularly paranoid I use this on the old
document before I copy content out of it, then on the new document after
I've pasted content from the old one into it. :)
