Frankly, I hate the term 'extensible'. If ever there was a misnomer,
extensible as used
in XML is it; XML isn't an extensible markup language at all, it's a
meta language for
markup languages, a tree description notation and a way to define tree
grammars.

Rather than use this much hyped term, I would recommend 'scalable' (see
the
wikipedia description at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scalable).
