Thanks to all for the Word help! I'll try the one below (I have Word 2K at home, and don't know if it will do two TOCs yet), though some of the others looked interesting, too. I've saved all in case the first doesn't work, or not as desired.

PS - I should point out that the plan is for everyone to become fluent in English, so I want this guide to be very temporary. 


First shot:
Have the English and Spanish headings each use a separate set of styles
(e.g. Heading 1, Heading 1 Spanish etc)

Then create two ToCs, one for each of the two style sets. If you want them
side-by-side, put them into a 1-row, 2-column table.
