Subject:Fun Word TOC question From:Brian Gordon <elasticsoul2003 -at- yahoo -dot- ca> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Thu, 10 Aug 2006 19:08:01 -0700 (PDT)
And now for something completely different...I have a Word question.
My wife and stepdaughter are on their way to join me from Colombia, and speak limited English. To help them get settled, I created a simple Help Manual for the house. :-) It provides instructions on everything from using the oven to composting. These are not incredibly detailed instructions; my wife is quite capable of using an oven, for example, but might struggle initially with the English button names, and certainly she wouldn't want to attempt the oven's user's manual. I just want to help her adapt - and don't want any unfortunate incidents. :-O
The manual consists of two columns per page, one side English, the other Spanish. I would like the TOC to have both the Spanish and English on the same page - and usefully readable. Does anyone know of an attractive, readable way to do this in Word? Multiple TOCs? TOCs in tables?
It's easy to do this for short headings:
la estufa range
However, what about longer headings? For example:
To watch a DVD or play a CD (SHAW) Mirar un DVD o jugar un CD (SHAW)
Thanks all,
Brian
