A former employer (less than 200 employees) that had offices in Europe
(England and Norway) and Asia (Korea and China) allowed their vendors to
translate the documents. The vendors had a distinct interest in ensuring
accuracy, they all spoke English as a second language, and it gave the main
company control over the end product (although none of us in the U.S. could

One time, we needed our On-Line Manual translated into Spanish for a
Venezuelan company. We looked at translation companies and they were

Spanish but with considerable differences in dialect. They had technical
backgrounds and basically worked together and agreeing on acceptable
language.
