So they hire you to write, and then they won't read.
This is standard. Welcome to the wonderful world of
documentation.

For me, the ratio is about half and half. But, I was
hired with the understanding that I would be
documenting internal matters.

Like you, I see most of the internal documentation
ignored. The only times it really gets used is when
there's a new hire who needs to get up to speed, or
when we have to document things for audit compliance.

And as for degree of control...Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha.
I got a better chance of being eaten by a shark in
Kansas than to ever have even the tiniest smidgen of
control over anything around here.

What the heck. The checks don't bounce.
