Nope, Captivate is maintained and marketed by Adobe. Prior to that, it was owned by Macromedia. Prior to THAT, it was owned by eHelp corporation and if you can believe this, prior to THAT it was owned by a company called Nexus Concepts.

Camtasia Studio is considered to be a loose competitor to Captivate. Camtasia is owned by TechSmith corporation.
