One of those nasty "merging" questions, I'm afraid, but let me keep it
simple.
When you merge HTML help, you cannot use a binary ToC (.hhc file) in the
master help file. Never. Under any circumstances. In any development or
help authoring environments. If you do use a binary ToC, the merging
will always fail. Is that right?
I'm trying to merge a set of .chm files in the Microsoft Management
Console (MMC), where a binary ToC seems to be a hard-and-fast
requirement.
If it's always true, the above HTML help requirement (that you need a
non-binary ToC) conflicts with the MMC requirement (that you need a
binary ToC), and that means I can't merge my .chm files, which is a
shame.
Has anyone ever merged .chm files using a binary ToC in the master help
file? If so, how?
