Hardly plagiarism!

And it is true - a degree is not a necessary ingredient for a good
writer - you either have it or you don't.

I was always 'best in class' too and had to constantly read my essays
aloud, much to my chagrin. But I followed a different path and just
fell into tech writing with not much training as one,
after being a PR assistant, then a programmer/analyst and a mum (at
the same time).

I have a good job and people seem pleased with what I do. So you see -
if you have the ability, there you go!
