Can anyone guide me on a important issue?

I have got a job offer from a big software company one of top 7 .

The pay I am being offered is marginal 20% more than what I am
getting currently?

I will be getting a hike in a couple of months to the same range in my
present company.

What should I do ????

It all depends. I'm the lone TW at my company (actually they call me a media producer) and the doc effort was in pretty bad shape when I arrived. Because of that, I've had virtually free reign to upgrade all the print docs, redesign the entire corporate web site (www.lectrosonics.com and still a work in progress), take over a lot of the graphic design work and help immensely with the marketing effort. I even have a photo studio in my office for everything from product shots to corporate portraits. I used to work for a larger organization (BLM-Alaska) and was stuck on one project...boring...frustrating. Now, I can do virtually anything I want or need to do to help the company's image. It's frustrating at times and it's a lot of work, but it's a lot more fun that being a cog in the wheel on a large project working for "one of the big boys." (This is not a slam at working for a larger company, or being a member of a large development team. It's just not my cup of tea.)

As for not having anyone to guide you on documentation issues, that is where this list service is invaluable. There is also a plethora of books on TWing and you always have past experience to draw on.

Throughout my writing career (it started in 1976), I've found that going for the money alone nearly always ends up being less fulfilling than going for the challenge with the money.

My two-cents worth.
