TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
We do peer edits. I enjoy editing and have sometimes thought I'd like to
try it full-time, but industry trends do not seem to support that as a
viable goal.

Subject: New TECHWR-L Poll Question - Editors

Hello everyone!
I hope your new year has gotten off to a great start! This week's poll
was
suggested by Wade Courtney, who wonders if anyone out there has the
luxury
of having an editor on their team. Apparently he doesn't, and I don't,
but
I know there are some of you out there who do (and others of you who
*are*
the editor). So, here's the question:
How is editing handled where you work?
* We have one editor
* We have more than one editor
* Our editors have editors
* Writers do peer edits
* I am an editor
* Editor? What is that?
* We so are good, we do not need an edtior
* Other/None of the Above
(Note: The second-to-last answer is supposed to look like that!)
