I'm half an editor. That is, half of my time is spent
writing and half editing. There's no chance to do
developmental editing formally. I do heavy copyediting after
the fourth draft, and preproduction checks. I also act as
the focal point for our style discussions and am responsible
for recording our decisions in the department style guide.
