You could also make that last one "the relative willingness or unwillingness
of the stateside management to accommodate the overseas employees with
conference calls at 3am, etc."

It was my experience when I worked at a large multinational corporation with
sites in Europe and Asia (whose jobs were never "onshore") that
collaboration among international teams works best when the teams take turns
meeting at painful hours. Giving one team's convenience more priority than
the other's causes the relationship to erode rapidly. (That said, the folks
in Hong Kong seemed more inclined than the Americans to stay in the office
until 12 or 1 am even when we *weren't* having a teleconference.)
