I was leery of this thread, but it's turned out to be
quite a practical compilation.

SUMMARY: for practical purposes, estimate somewhere between
3 hours and 8 hours per page, all-in*.

(* All-in means your own time, for all research, planning,
writing, testing, editing, enduring/fixing inevitable computer
and tool glitches -- plus other people's turnaround for
reviews, making themselves available for interview**, etc.)

(**Somebody always picks exactly the worst time to go on
vacation. Well, they don't see it as the worst time,
but you might.

And then, there's scope creep and last-minute-itis, but we
will not speak of this.
