Which is something I've done. Not that hard. You just have to do a lot of listening. And especially forget what you think you know about the law -- leave the legal theories to the lawyers.

This last part is hard for a lot of people. It seems to bruise their egos to admit that Anglo-American law is too arcane for somebody without a lot of training and experience. But good tech writers don't have egos.
